Length: 13 videos, 190 minutes
Finding the answers to these questions can seem daunting. Who can you trust?
Much of the information on the internet comes from people trying to sell you a product. So how
can you get real answers?
Plus, you don’t know what you don’t know. Are you even asking the right questions?
That’s why we’ve created this course.
We want to give you the tools you need to gain confidence when it comes to making big financial decisions for the next phase of life. You don’t need to get a master’s degree in finance to gain confidence. But you must know certain things so you can detect a cheap sales pitch from a real solution.
This knowledge can only come from people outside the sales machine of the industry.
In this video course, you’ll learn what you need to know to set yourself up for retirement so you can relax. We answer questions such as:
By the end of this course, you will feel comfortable answering these questions and more.
You may not be able—or want—to implement all the strategies yourself, but you will know what to look for when finding someone to manage your money and make recommendations.
In short, you won’t have to feel like someone’s taking advantage of you.
Take control of your own retirement.
People in their 50s tend to approach investing in a few different ways. Where do you fit?
1. “The risk-taker.” Some people feel they don’t have enough saved, so they want to get the highest possible return on their investments to “catch up.”
This often leads to unnecessary risk and can result in disastrous results.
2. “The worrier.” Others feel they want to hang on tightly to what they have, and not take any risk at all. This often leads to taking on significant inflation risk, and they can run the portfolio out of money before they realize it.
This second group can also be susceptible to being sold on expensive insurance products that—to put it lightly—over-promise and under-deliver.
In this course, learn about investing and retirement income from an academic perspective—but delivered in a way you can understand. You’ll walk away with a perspective from outside the sales process—from those unbiased because they don’t make money from financial products.
We help you understand the basic concepts of this research and what it means for your investments, so you can feel confident about the strategy you should take.
This doesn’t mean you need to implement the strategy yourself, but after taking this course, you will know a good strategy from a bad one.
Building a financial plan is like making a puzzle—you need all of the pieces for the whole picture to make sense.
If you have all the pieces related to risk management, but you don’t have the investing pieces, you’re not going to get things right.
Each area affects all of the other areas.
That’s why, when making a financial plan, it’s essential to consider every area of your financial life.
That’s what this course helps you do.
We give you a little knowledge of each area, so you can see the full picture.
